Court O’Reilly, Pyrography Artist

“My woodburning journey started in 2016. I had the day off work. It was a cold winter day. I was ready to begin my first woodburning project. Wood, tool, and a coffee. I sat down and started burning. Six hours passed and I finally turned off my tool. It is not hard to say I was instantly hooked. Seeing my finished art piece for the first time made me smile, but reflecting on the passed six hours made me smile even bigger. I found something that I could fully relax, be present, and immerse myself in. Being creative felt so good. Today, I am grateful for that initial curiosity of learning how to woodburn. It has led me right here. Still woodburning. Still drinking coffee. Just a little bit more sure of who I am and where I am meant to be.”
